The Wilderness

In The Wilderness needed a 1930s cabin to shoot this short period film.  We connected the Producer with Promised Land State Park, which had authentic cabins built in the 1930s.  The park actually has 12 cabins on the property and the production had to make the cabin appear to be isolated.  The cabin appears to be in the middle of nowhere, when in reality there were access roads allowing production vehicles to be close to the location.  The woods in the State Park provided the perfect backdrop for this project.  The Film Commission was also able to provide a $500 grant toward lodging for the team while they were here and arrange special hotel rates for the production.  As a follow-up, the film commission provided information on the Black Bear Film Festival and the project was accepted into the festival providing the director an opportunity to talk about producing a film in the Pocono Mountains.  State Owned Lands in Pennsylvania can be used as locations for free but permits and insurance are required.
